ROLLING BLACKOUTS COASTAL FEVER JULIE'S PLACE

Alongside news of signing to Sub Pop, the wonderfully-named Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have shared a new single in the shape of 'Julie's Place'. Born from late night jam sessions in singer/guitarist Fran Keaney’s bedroom and honed in the thrumming confines of Melbourne’s live music venues, the Aussie five - cousins Joe White and Fran Keaney, brothers Tom and Joe Russo, and drummer Marcel Tussie - make punked-up, slacker-tinged garage-rock that nods to the likes of Parquet Courts. It's an infectious, snappily smile-inducing cut that signals great things to come from its accompanying EP due next year. Bravo. -G.O'B
